SMITH, Chief Justice.

Appellant is a resident of the State of Idaho. He is a member of the Shoshone-Bannock Indian Tribe at the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. May 7, 1965, he commenced the proceeding at bar, a mandamus action, in the district court of seventh (formerly sixth) judicial district of the State of Idaho, in Bingham County. By such action he sought to compel restoration of his office as a member of the Shoshone-Bannock Business Council to which office he alleged he was duly elected in June, 1962, for a two year term, and from which he was illegally ousted by respondents, March 10,…
