Mr. Norwood was convicted of Assault in the First Degree, a Class A felony, upon a jury verdict finding that he caused serious physical injury to Mr. Robert Stepp after Defendant knocked Mr. Stepp to the ground and stomped on his head. Defendant appeals, arguing that the evidence was only sufficient to show -that he caused physical injury to Mr. Stepp, not that he caused serious physical injury to him. Because we find that the evidence was sufficient to allow the jury to find that Defendant knowingly injured the victim, causing him to suffer a closed head injury…
