Two days after a jury verdict in his favor in his asbestos-related personal injury action against defendants Metalclad Insulation Corporation (Metalclad) and John Crane Inc. (Crane), Anthony Cadlo (Cadlo) died. Judgment was entered on April 4, 2005, more than one week after his death, on behalf of his widow Maxlyn Cadlo (Maxlyn Cadlo), individually and as successor in interest to her husband. Subsequently, the trial court vacated that judgment and, nunc pro tunc, entered a retroactive judgment to March 23, 2005, the day after the verdict and one day before Cadlo died. In that…
