BACKGROUND
[¶ 1] On May 10, 1997, defendant North Star Mutual Insurance Company (“North Star”), issued a renewal of a so-called farmowners (sic) insurance policy to the plaintiff, Robert Hanson (“Hanson”). The policy provided coverage for Section 34, Township 112, Range 71, in Hyde County, South Dakota. No one resided on the property insured by North Star.
