MEMORANDUM AND ORDER

TROUTMAN, District Judge.

In a prior decision we held that plaintiffs, former sergeants in the Allentown police force, had not been unconstitutionally demoted to the rank of patrolmen. We also held that defendants were entitled to summary judgment on the claim that plaintiffs’ demotion was in retaliation for their support of an unsuccessful mayoral candidate. Sames v. Gable, 542 F.Supp. 51 (E.D.Pa. 1982). Upon a motion to reconsider, plaintiffs submitted affidavits which purportedly raised genuine issues of material fact and argued that judgment was erroneously entered. We…
