Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Adams County, defendant was convicted of one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1991, ch. 38, par. 12 — 14(b)(1)) and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1991, ch. 38, par. 12 — 16(c)(l)(i)). The trial court sentenced defendant to 20 years’ imprisonment for the aggravated criminal sexual assault, to be served consecutively to concurrent four- and seven-year sentences for the convictions of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
