This suit was brought by appellee, G. P. Marchand, to recover damages for personal injuries alleged to have been caused by the negligence of appellant in the operation of one of its passenger trains. The accident which is the basis of the suit occurred on the line of appellant’s railway at the little town of Hitchcock, the population of which is estimated at from 250 to 350, and including the adjacent residents, at from 400 to 500 inhabitants.
