On October 25, 2002, Jack R. Smith (“Smith” or the “plaintiff’), proceeding pro se, filed this action seeking judicial review of the August 20, 2001 denial by the Bureau of Disability Insurance of the Social Security Administration (“SSA”) of his claims for a period of disability, disability insurance benefits, and supplemental security income.
