This appeal arises from a negligence suit brought by Jerome and Tammy Lohmann, plaintiffs, against Norfolk & Western Railway Company, defendant, for injuries sustained by Mr. Lohmann when the tractor-trailer unit he was driving was struck by defendant’s train at a railroad crossing on Highway 24 in Monroe City, Missouri. Following a trial, plaintiffs obtained judgments for injuries and loss of consortium amounting collectively to $9,639,000.00.
