Defendant, Lulu Gene Hilsinger, December 21, 1930, in Jefferson county, shot and killed her husband, George Hilsinger, and, as a result of the homicide, was charged with the crime of murder in the first degree. She pleaded not guilty, and entered in addition, a special plea of “not guilty by reason of temporary insanity.” On the trial, defendant admitted the killing, and sought to justify her act on the ground of self-defense.
