CHOATE, District Judge.

This is a suit in personam brought by the owners of the American schooner J. M. Leonard of Fall River, and her master and crew, against the owner of the British steamship Arragon, to recover the value of said schooner and her cargo and freight, and the personal effects of the master and crew, alleged to have been totally lost in consequence of a collision between the schooner and the steamship on the 17th of April, 1877, the total value as stated in the libel being $30,686.25.
