GRUENDER, Circuit Judge.

Glen Ray Allen pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute more than 1,000 kilograms of marijuana and possessing with intent to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana, in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) and 846. The district court sentenced Allen to 120 months’ imprisonment, which was affirmed on appeal. Allen petitioned for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2255, claiming that he was denied his Sixth Amendment right to effective assistance of counsel.
