OPINION OF THE COURT

A. LEON HIGGINBOTHAM, Jr., Circuit Judge.

Defendant Jo Ann Zepp appeals from a judgment and conviction for destruction of evidence in violation of 14 V.I.C. § 1506, simple possession of a controlled substance in violation of 19 V.I.C. § 607 and from the denial of her motion for a new trial. Following a jury trial,1 she was sentenced to one-year imprisonment on the destruction of evidence count and fined $5,000.00 on the simple possession count.
