Immediately after the jury returned its verdict at 9:15 P.M. on Friday, November 15, 1968, convicting defendants Tropiano, Grasso and Pellegrino of extortion or attempted extortion affecting interstate commerce in violation of the Hobbs Anti-Racketeering Act, 18 U.S.C. § 1951, and convicting Tropiano and Grasso of conspiring so to do, 18 U.S.C. § 1951, the government moved, pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 3148, that each of the three defendants be held without bond pending imposition of…
