The Chancellor.

Hannah Johnson, the mother of the complainant, died in the year 1811. At the time of her marriage with the complainant’s father, Robert Johnson, she was seized and possessed of a very large and valuable estate in the county of Salem. During the coverture, she joined with her husband in the conveyance of a part of this estate, for the consideration of twenty thousand dollars, which consideration was received by her husband, and by him expended in the improvement of real estate which he held in' his own right.
