Anna A. Ruscoe died February 11, 1930, leaving a will dated October 1, 1918, a first codicil thereto dated March 2, 1921, and a second codicil thereto dated June 11, 1928. Under article third of the will as modified by article first of the second codicil, the testatrix established a trust of the residue of her estate under the terms of which the income should be paid to her son, Ernest C. Ruscoe, for life. The remainder was disposed of in *519the following language: “[A]t his death, I give, devise and bequeath . . .
