*524 *112 ¶ 1 Defendant, Christopher Shelton, appeals from the trial court's order dismissing his petition for relief from judgment, which was originally a postconviction petition. Defendant argues that he was deprived of reasonable assistance of counsel under the Post-Conviction Hearing Act (Act) ( 725 ILCS 5/122-1 et seq. (West 2014) ). We vacate and remand for further proceedings.
