This was an action begun in the Superior Court of Cook County by Leo Kravitz, a minor, by Julius Kravitz, his next friend, plaintiff in error and hereinafter called plaintiff, against the Chicago Railways Company and the Chicago City Railway Company, defendant in error and hereinafter called defendant, to recover damages for personal injuries alleged to have been sustained by plaintiff as a result of his being struck by a car of defendant in Halsted street at its intersection with 14th place in the city of Chicago.
