Petitioner seeks a writ of review to annul a contempt judgment for refusing an order of respondent court to comply with a subpoena duces tecum. The threshold issue presented by this proceeding is the scope of protection accorded by Evidence Code section 1070 to information acquired by a newsman in the course of his professional activities which has not been disseminated to the public.
