Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Sullivan County (Aison, J.), rendered December 12,1990, upon a verdict convicting defendant of two counts of the crime of assault in the second degree.
Defendant, while incarcerated at Woodbourne Correctional Facility (hereinafter Woodbourne) in Sullivan County, was *792placed in handcuffs, leg irons and a waist chain whenever he used the recreation yard because of his violent propensities.
