Hixon sued Council to recover $17,471.11, alleged to be due for services rendered the' defendant by the plaintiff as an attorney at law, and for expenses incurred during the rendition *819of such services. The petition made substantially the following case: The defendant desired to acquire a large tract of pine timber, growing upon 86y2 lots of land in Clinch and Echols counties, known as the “Hawkins land.” He knew that the title to this land was clouded 'and uncertain, that he would have great difficulty in procuring a good title, and that the services of experienced and competent attorneys…
