OPINION

NYE, Chief Justice.

This is an appeal from a suit against Volkswagen of America, Inc., (Volkswagen) and the estate of Santana Martinez for which appellants sought recovery for personal injury and wrongful death. The suit arose from an automobile collision in which Felix Ramirez, Jr., Arturo Ramirez and Christopher Lyon Wilson were killed when the Volkswagen van occupied by them collided with a vehicle driven by Santana Martinez.
