— Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Hamilton County (Best, J.), rendered September 30, 1983, upon a verdict convicting defendants of the crimes of grand larceny in the third degree and offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree. 11 Defendants *954Harold and Sally Cornell began receiving public assistance payments from the Hamilton County Department of Social Services (department) in August of 1981.
