By section 9 of' title 3 of the charter of the city of Cohoes, it is provided that the inspectors of election of each ward shall canvass the votes given at every city election, and make a statement determining and certifying the number of votes cast for each person for city and ward officers and for school commissioners, and that such statements shall be immediately delivered to the city clerk.
