In this case, five former employee-traders sued North Central and its owners, alleging that North Central’s formula for compensating traders violated (1) the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), 18 U.S.C. §§ 1961-1968; (2) the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), 29 U.S.C. §§ 1001-1461; and (3) state tort and contract law.
