RICHARD C. FREEMAN, Senior District Judge.

This action is before the court on claimant Mark Anthony Cort [Cortj’s motion that “forfeiture of defendant’s vehicle would violate the Excessive Fines Clause of the Eighth Amendment” [# 27-1]. As claimant files this motion after a jury verdict in favor of plaintiff, United States of America, the court will interpret Cort’s request as one for judgment as a matter of law, pursuant to Fed.R.Civ.P. 50(b). 1 The motion is opposed. Upon careful review, the court grants Cort’s motion and enters judgment in favor of the defendant vehicle.
