The Chancellor:

The case presents an unfortunate controversy that has arisen among the members of what is known as The Presbyterian Congregation at the Head of Christiana. Head of Christiana is of geographical significance. The place of worship has always been near the Christiana River or, as it was called in former times, Christiana Creek. The congregation is a very old one, dating from about the year 1708.
