This case involves a dispute over the diagnosis of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Type I, also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (“RSD”). RSD is a pain disorder affecting the sympathetic nerve system, and it was first diagnosed in plaintiff 19 months following an automobile accident which initially caused soft tissue *916injuries to both of plaintiffs legs immediately below the knee.
