Appeal from an order of the County Court of Rensselaer County (McGrath, J.), entered December 2, 2005, which classified defendant as a risk level III sex offender pursuant to the Sex Offender Registration Act.

*969Following defendant’s 1979 conviction, upon a plea of guilty, of attempted murder in the second degree and rape in the first degree, he was sentenced to prison. Upon his release, County Court conducted a hearing to determine defendant’s appropriate sex offender classification.
