CATHELL, Judge.

Petitioner, Bonnie Roberts A/K/A Bonnie Iqbal-Perbaksh A/K/A Bonnie Elaine Singington, 1 was charged with first degree murder and related offenses in the death of Dr. Stephen Olowu. Prior to the trial, petitioner, through her attorney, filed a Motion to Request Mental Examination, which the trial court denied without a hearing. A jury, sitting in the Circuit Court for St. Mary’s County, convicted her of second degree murder and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony.
