In an eight-count indictment filed on December 9, 1975, appellant and William Wright were charged with armed kidnapping (D.C.Code 1973, §§ 22-2101, -3202), kidnapping (D.C.Code 1973, § 22-2101), armed robbery (D.C.Code 1973, § 22-2901), three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (D.C.Code 1973, § 22-502), and carrying a pistol without a license (D.C. Code 1973, § 22-3204). Prior to trial, Wright entered into a plea bargain with the government, under the terms of which he agreed to plead guilty in an unrelated case to a charge of manslaughter while armed, and…
