On October 23, 1888, in the circuit court of Cook county, appellee obtained a divorce from appellant, and on the 29th of that month he was decreed by the court to pay her the sum of $80 per month as alimony. On February 7, 1902, appellee filed her affidavit in that court showing that the sum of $1200 was due her on that decree, and that defendant had not paid anything thereon since June, 1901. Thereupon an order was entered requiring the defendant to show cause why he should not be attached for failure to comply with the decree, and on February 13, 1902, he filed a sworn answer stating that…
