The appellant was convicted, in accordance with his negotiated pleas, of absence without leave, as a lesser-included offense of desertion, from 2 August to 6 September 1990; theft of $17,152.00 in postal funds from the proceeds of the sale of postal money orders on 1 August 1990; and wrongful appropriation, as a lesser-included offense of larceny, of a rental car on 1 August 1990, which he used to leave the *871vicinity of his ship and abandoned at an airport for more expeditious transportation.
