This is an appeal from a decision of the Unemployment Compensation Board of Review (“Board”) denying the appellant’s request for extended benefits as provided for in the Act of February 9, 1971, P. L. , No. 1, 13 P.S. §811 (hereinafter “Act No. 1”).

The appellant was employed as an electrical equipment repair helper at the Tobyhanna Army Depot until he was laid off, and his last day of work was Friday, January 30,1970.
