Judgment unanimously reversed on the law and as a matter of discretion in the interest of justice and new trial granted. Memorandum: Defendant appeals from a judgment convicting him, after a jury trial, of criminal possession of a controlled substance in *989the fourth degree. Defendant’s principal argument on appeal is that he was denied a fair trial because of pervasive prosecutorial misconduct, because the court failed to take corrective action or give curative instructions, and because highly prejudicial evidence was improperly admitted. We agree.
