DOWD, District Judge.
On June 13, 1986, the Court issued a memorandum opinion and judgment entry denying petitioner Carmen Williams’s petition for habeas corpus relief. The petitioner filed her notice of appeal with the Court on July 18, 1986. Thus, the petitioner filed her notice of appeal five days beyond the 30 day limit prescribed in Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure 4(a)(1). In addition, it appears that counsel for the petitioner did not become aware of the untimely filing until August 13, 1986.
