Florence V. Jones, on July 29, 1947, filed in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court of Dade County, Florida, her amended petition and alleged, in part, that she was unmarried and the mother of James Richard Jones, a child born out of wedlock, and that the father thereof was James A. York and. it was his legal duty to support and maintain the child, which he failed and neglected to do.
