Defendant Timothy Burke appeals from the judgment of conviction of two counts of attempted robbery (Pen. Code, §§ 664/211) and one count of petty theft (Pen. Code, § 488).

The evidence, viewed in the light most favorable to the judgment (People v. Caudillo (1978) 21 Cal.3d 562, 570 [146 Cal.Rptr. 859, 580 P.2d 274]) revealed that on June 26, 1978, defendant, wearing a pair of black-framed eyeglasses and a navy blue watch cap, walked up to Theresa Figueroa, a cashier in J.
