Vollie Bill Bates was convicted of murder and sentenced to death; and has appealed. This being a capital ease, § 4257, Pope’s Digest, prescribes the extent of the review. The motion for new trial contains 36 assignments; and, in addition, the transcript discloses other objections made by the defendant in the course of the trial.
