Appellant, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company (State Farm), appeals from a default judgment entered in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County and the assessment of damages in the amount of $1,163,534.36. 1

The instant litigation arose from a prior suit in which State Farm’s insured, Jorgen L. Larsen (Larsen), was sued along with David W. Watkins (Watkins) for the wrongful death of a fifteen year old boy, Thomas J. Sexton, III.
