After a bench trial, defendant, Timothy J. Mattison, was found guilty of operating a motor vehicle when his driver’s license was suspended (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 95½, par. 6 — 303(a)), and he was sentenced to one year of conditional discharge with 200 hours of public service employment and assessed court costs of $75.
