This is a direct appeal by the defendant, Manuel Salcido-Corral, from his convictions of first-degree felony murder, aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, and attempted aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

The defendant appeals, contending the evidence is insufficient to support a conviction for felony murder; that his statement and consent to search were involuntary because they were obtained using the English language even though the defendant’s primary language is Spanish.
