This is an appeal from a judgment on a directed verdict for the defendant landlord in a tenant’s action for negligence in the maintenance and care of the landlord’s premises. The landlord had acquired a building, which was located in Quincy, in the fall of 1971. The plaintiff had been a tenant in the building for about eight years prior to the accident, and had been the custodian for the prior owner.
