This is an appeal from a judgment of the Circuit Court of Wayne County entered in a civil action instituted by Carroll M. Earp, doing business as Earp Construction Company, as the plaintiff, against Selwyn and Lila L. Vanderpool, as defendants, to enforce a mechanic’s lien. The lien was based upon work performed by the plaintiff for the defendants in developing a tract of real estate for use as a subdivision. The Vanderpools defended the action upon the grounds that the plaintiff’s work had been performed in an unauthorized and unworkmanlike manner and at an unreasonable…
