Defendant challenges his conviction for speeding and for operating a vehicle without the required lighting, ORS 811.111 and ORS 816.330. He contends that the trial court denied him a full opportunity to present his defense. We review a trial court’s actions to control the proceedings before it for abuse of discretion. See State v. Rogers, 330 Or 282, 300, 4 P3d 1261 (2000) (“It is well established that a trial court generally possesses broad discretion to control the proceedings before it.”); OEC 611(1) (the court shall exercise reasonable control over the presentation of evidence).
