This is a personal injury case in which the defendant in error (hereinafter called the plaintiff) recovered a judgment against the plaintiff in error (hereinafter called the defendant) for the sum of $7,500, which we are asked to reverse for the reason hereinafter stated.

Naomi C. Dressier (the plaintiff) had resided in South Richmond for several years prior to the injury complained of, and she and her sister for about two years had been working in. the factory of the British-American Tobacco Company, located near Broad street, west of First, in the western end of the city.
