There is a bridge across the Mississippi River at Memphis, known as the Harahan bridge. It was constructed and is maintained-by a corporation for use primarily as a railroad bridge, but, under the requirements of the act of Congress authorizing its construction, provision is made for other modes of travel by vehicles or by pedestrians, and it is operated for those purposes as a free bridge. The Arkansas terminus of the bridge is in Crittenden County, and that county several years ago constructed a viaduct from the terminus of the wagonway of the bridge to the levee…
