The critical facts of this appeal can be succinctly stated: Appellant made a highly incriminating statement to one of his original trial defense counsel, though he later recanted the incriminating portions of it. This statement, when made, clearly fell within the protection of the attorney-client relationship. Mil.R.Evid. 502, Manual for Courts-Martial, United States, 1984.
