This is an action by representative members of a class1 of growers of burley tobacco within the commonwealth of Kentucky. The plaintiffs seek to invoke herein the original jurisdiction of this Court in a suit of a civil nature, cognizable as a ease in equity,2 where the matter in controversy exceeds the sum of $10,000, exclusive of interest and costs, and is between citizens of different states.3 Each of the defendants is the owner, directly or through a subsidiary, of five very-high-frequency television transmission stations.
