Verna Scott, administratrix of the estate of her deceased husband Johnny Lee Scott, brought this action under the wrongful death statute, MCL 600.2922; MSA 27A.2922, for the benefit of herself and their minor child. The complaint alleged negligence on the part of defendant Burger King Corporation that resulted in the shooting of the decedent while a patron at one of the defendant’s restaurants on January 8, 1977.
